Monday Night Beginner - Pace Line - Central Park, 7:00 PM, Speedskater's Curb |
|
Join us on Monday nights at the Speedskaters' Curb (at the top of the hill on the Central Park loop opposite Tavern on the Green) at 7:00 PM. We will leave to skate the first loop at around 7:15 PM Francisco Ramirez, a long time CanarIam/Empire Speed Team Member and a recognized skater with tons of training experience in skates as well as an extensive background on the bike, will lead the sessions. (Not to worry, these practices are focused on the beginner skater.) The session will involve a small technical lesson with a different point of emphasis each week followed by a group paceline skate around the loop where we all stay together and concentrate on getting our technique improved so we can all skate faster, with less effort. All skill levels are welcome, speedskates are NOT required (but helmets and wrist guards are). For the speedier types, this is a Monday Recovery pace, Miguel Patino a long time Empire Speed Pro Master, with tons of racing experience, will lead and coach the faster group, we usually do two or three more laps after the first one where we tend to open it up a bit more. please check on the Forum for updates on practices Hope to see you there |
